Pointers Win Lacrosse CIF For The First Time

The Pointer boys lacrosse team was involved in a back-and-forth nail-biter against Del Norte for the CIF Div. II trophy May 18 at San Dieguito Academy when the Nighthawks scored for a 7-7 tie with just 1:40 left in the game.

When the Pointers regained possession after the re-start, head coach Deron Ambler called a timeout with 30.2 seconds left.

“In the timeout, we said ‘Brady (Allen) you’re going to go down there, take the shot and win this championship for us,’”Ambler said.

Allen, the Pointer football team quarterback used to violent contact, took the ball and walked slowly around the middle of the field, unguarded by the Nighthawks as the seconds ticked down.
