Baseball is Buzzing In San Diego In 2024

Cathedral Catholic and Rancho Bernardo kept their spots atop the San Diego Section top 10 baseball rankings after undefeated weeks in their respective leagues. The Dons and Broncos have two weeks left to improve their seedings in the CIF Power Rankings.

The Dons took two games from Madison in the Western League, erasing an 11-6 deficit in Wednesday’s victory.

Rancho Bernardo swept three games from San Marcos, needing extra innings on both Tuesday and Saturday. They lead Carlsbad by one game with five left to play.\

The Saints shutout Ramona 3-0 on Monday and then proceeded to score 26 combined runs in two league wins over Christian. They are tied atop the Western League standings with Cathedral Catholic with four games to play.

The Falcons dropped the opener in the series against La Costa Canyon, 1-0, in 10 innings and then beat the Mavericks twice to end the week. A massive three-game series with Rancho Bernardo begins Tuesday.

Patrick Henry tied Point Loma 0-0 on Wednesday in nine innings and bounced back with a 2-1 win in eight innings against the Pointers on Friday.

The Eagles beat Santana 7-0 on Thursday but dropped Friday’s game to the Sultans, 1-0. They’ll play each league opponent once over the next two weeks.

The Titans beat Montgomery twice last week, extending their winning streak to seven games. They’ll take on Bonita Vista twice to open this week.

Carlsbad swept three games from Del Norte last week to keep their hopes alive for a league title. They’ll play three games with San Marcos this week.
