“…If Morse’s girls basketball team — which started the season with a school-record-equaling 13-straight wins and is now 13-1 — captures the Division 2 championship, the school will hang its first banner in that sport.

“That would be incredible,” said senior guard Jayla White, the Tigers’ leading scorer. “It would be a really big deal.”

This Morse team doesn’t have impressive size. It has one player, Jasmine Zufri, who is 6 feet tall. But the Tigers, led by White (21.3 points per game) and Kyla Palpallatoc’s (14.2 ppg), make up for the lack of height in other ways.
