Pointers Pitching Puts Them In The Win Column
For six innings, Point Loma High School right-hander Will Sanford and St. Augustine righty Grayson Boles hooked up in an old-fashioned pitching duel that included 18 strikeouts, three hits — and no runs allowed.
When pitch counts knocked both pitchers out of the game, the bullpens took over and not much changed — until there were two outs in the bottom of the seventh.
Point Loma’s Griffin Ice led off with a single. He was still standing on first when, with two out, Druw Frost hit a high fly ball to left field that landed beyond the dive of Drake Konja.
